Gujarat Mineral Development Corporation Ltd. (GMDC) has established International Centre of Excellence in Mining Safety & Automation (iCEM), an autonomous organization, with an objective to be recognized as the distinguished global collaborator to the Mining industry in the fields of Skill Development and Corporate Training, Demonstration of Technology and Best Practices, Education and Training and Research and Development, through continued innovation and excelence.
GMDC is looking for a Director who could nurture the institution as a state-of-the-art centre of learning in Mining Safety & Mining Automation and to build a research and development capability of world standard.
THE CENTRE GOALS
iCEM will serve as a global platform for human resource capital, national and international collaborations, and knowledge resources in the fields of Mining Safety and Mining Automation. The Institution would offer Skill Development Programs, Demonstration of Technology and Training in initial phase and Formal Education and Research in subsequent phases.
LOCATION:
The Centre is being located Opp. Kensville, Village Dev Dholera, on the outskirts of Ahmedabad.
ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
The applicant should have a First Class Bachelors & Masters Degree in Engineering preferably in Mining Discipline. Doctorate (PhD) from a renowned technical institute along with experience in Mining Operations would be preferable.
The candidate must have a minimum of fifteen years of industry experience in technical and managerial capacity out of which at least five years of International experience would be preferable. Exposure to academic administration and international relations, teaching and / or research would be preferred. The candidate from industry with three to five years sabbatical can also apply to set up this Centre.
JOB PROFILE:
The Director would be accountable for the academic and administrative functions of the Institute. He would report to the Governing Body of iCEM. Since it is a new institute, the job inter alia would also involve recruitment of trainers, resource persons, faculty, developing of curriculum etc.
Salary will be commensurate with industry standards and relevant experience.
