Associates at Analyst level are expected to have a specialty background on more than one system. Operates one or more complex computer systems and all
associated peripheral equipment. Monitors performance of systems utilizing software support tools. Ensures emergency operating procedures are maintained.
Interfaces with customers and appropriate support groups to resolve complex issues. May act as Shift or Team Lead by providing direction and guidance to
other operators while continuing to provide day-to-day support. Depending on assignment, may handle hardware or software support for associated data center equipment. Requires 4+ years of experience in computer operations and thorough knowledge of emergency operating procedures, or an equivalent combination of experience and education.

Mandatory –

AS400 – CL commands, monitoring job flow, IPL procedures, working on different LPARs through HMC, work with problems and monitoring QSYSOPR message queue for
any job abends and other system alerts.

• 4+ years of hands on experience on AS400 operations
• Ability to perform attended / Manual IPL on Iseries platform
• Working on DB errors on MIMIX tool
• Ability to add / change jobs to the scheduler like Robot
• Ability to perform PTF load and application on Iseries platform
• Working knowledge on messaging tools like ABSMessage is recommended.
• Working with support teams on upgradation exercises on Iseries platform
• Supporting DR activities from operations standpoint on Iseries platform
• Hardware troubleshooting during disc failures and vendor coordination on Iseries platform

  Typical Duties:

• May provide guidance, train and audit work of less-senior staff operating the computer system and other peripheral equipment. Assist in recommending
  schedules for staff and equipment to obtain maximum usage.
• Manipulates controls to initiate and operate the computer. Monitors and diagnoses on-line system problems via use of various software tools. Initiates
  corrective action where possible.
• Compiles and maintains reports relative to computer operation as required. Reviews equipment logs and reports on equipment operation efficiency as
  required.
• Keeps management abreast of the condition of the computer equipment and the adequacy of scheduling.
• Provides input to management on performance of assigned Analysts and Technicians.
• Participates in system studies and implementations. Communicates technical alternatives to management and recommends appropriate actions.

  Job Responsibilities:

• Monitor all platform /online availability and ensure all Daily Production is completed as schedule.
• Ensure all Special Requests are completed as requested.
• Review daily check off sheets.
• May provide guidance, train and audit work of less-senior staff operating the computer system and other peripheral equipment. Assist in recommending
  schedules for staff and equipment to obtain maximum usage.
• Obtains authorization from manager for software and system upgrade. Plan and perform system / software upgrade. Interfaces with vendors to ensure timely
  attention to maintenance concerns.

• Compiles and maintains reports relative to computer operation as required. Keeps management abreast of the condition of the computer equipment and the
  adequacy of scheduling.
• Gives proper turnover to the on-coming shift. The turnover should be reviewed by exiting and oncoming shift lead prior to an individual leaving for that
  day.
• Ensure problem tickets are opened properly and timely with the correct severity.
• Have an understanding of your client(s) and the Data Center Service Level Agreements (SLA’s) and ensure your team has an understanding of the same
  information
• Resolve or escalate Sev 1, Sev 2 and rest of the severity level incidents without impacting SLA
• Establishes, reviews, and revises operating procedures as required.
• Participates in system studies and implementations. Communicates technical alternatives to management and recommends appropriate actions.

Job Description Summary
Performs installation, customization and maintenance of the operating system and system software products in support of business processing requirements. Evaluates and integrates new operating system versions, drivers and hardware. Provides technical expertise for system transitions, migrations and consolidations.

Principle Accountabilities

• Tests software updates and patches.
• Monitors and tunes the system to achieve optimum performance levels in standalone and multi-tiered environments.
